Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from several sites in the commune of Serralunga d'Alba, at elevations of 340 to 520 m above sea level. The slopes face in different directions, and together with the limestone soils they give the Nebbiolo balance and its characteristic earthy nuances. Blending the different sites produces a harmonious wine.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in October and fermented in concrete tanks for 15 days, followed by gentle pressing.
Ageing
The wine matures for several months in large French oak casks. The short time in oak softens the tannins and gives a more elegant structure while preserving Nebbiolo's natural freshness and purity.
Tasting profile
Graceful, fresh and full of juicy fruit, with earthy nuances and balance. It is lighter in character than Barolo, and the tannins are softened by the oak.
Serving and pairing
Suited to picnics and as an aperitif, including in warmer months. It pairs easily with a wide range of meals.
