Vineyard and terroir

The vineyards lie in the village of Solicchiata, on Etna’s northern slopes, at elevations of up to 750 metres above sea level. The site is on the slopes of Europe’s highest active volcano. The soils consist mainly of sand and solidified lava, while the cool microclimate contributes a mineral character.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-October and fermented for 10 days in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine matures in French oak barrels, with the barrel size selected according to the character of each vintage. The oak balances the grape’s natural power, contributes a silky texture and preserves its gentle spicy notes.

Tasting profile

Elegant, juicy and soft, with a refined style, mineral character, silky texture and gentle spicy notes.

Vintage notes

The dry 2021 season left the vines with limited moisture, producing smaller berries and giving the wine additional depth and richness.
