Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from selected vineyards in the Oltradige at 350–450 m. Poor gravelly and loamy soils with abundant limestone deposits give the wine its name, “Marna”. Yield is 56 hl/ha.
Grapes
100% Chardonnay.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and delivered in small containers. Gentle whole-cluster pressing is followed by must clarification through natural sedimentation. Alcoholic fermentation is divided between stainless steel, accounting for 40%, and large oak barrels, accounting for 60%. Only part of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
Both portions mature on the fine lees for 7 months. Additional bottle ageing precedes release.
