Vineyard and terroir

PIZ ROSÉ comes from Cantina Girlan’s highest-altitude Pinot Noir sites in Oltradige, at 550–650 metres. The vineyards face predominantly east, encouraging gradual ripening and contributing freshness to the wine.

Grapes

100% Pinot Noir.

Vinification

The grapes are selectively harvested by hand and transported in small containers. After destemming, the presses are filled gently by gravity. The must remains in contact with the skins for only a few hours, extracting a pale colour and refined fruit aromas. Malolactic fermentation is avoided to retain freshness and tension.

Ageing

Maturation takes place in stainless-steel tanks on the fine lees. Bottling follows in the spring after harvest.

Technical data

Vintage 2025. Alto Adige DOC. Yield: 56 hl/ha. Alcohol: 12.5% vol. Total acidity: 6.3 g/L. Residual sugar: 0.2 g/L. Ageing potential: 5 years.

Tasting profile

Bright salmon pink. The precise, refined bouquet shows fresh redcurrant, raspberry and cranberry. The palate is elegant and balanced, combining lively acidity with an appealing lightness.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 10–12 °C. Suitable as a summer aperitif and with fish starters, light Mediterranean dishes and refined cuisine.

Label / history

“Piz” is Ladin for “mountain peak,” referring directly to the wine’s alpine origin.
