Storia
1900s: the beginning
Dora Sala, great-grandmother of the current owners, and her husband bought their first vineyards in Mazara del Vallo. The grapes grown there were first used to make Marsala wine.
The next generation
Michele and Doretta shaped the brand as it is known today, producing a wide range of red and white wines.
Today
Their daughters, Annamaria and Clara, run the family business, developing the winery and expanding its range.
Terroir
The Sala family vineyards lie between the Mediterranean coast and the Lake Preola and Gorghi Tondi Nature Reserve, in the area of Mazara del Vallo. The soils of the vineyards near the karst lakes give the grapes a mineral character and lively acidity.
Vinificazione
Sustainability is central to the winery's approach. The sisters use organic methods, aiming to preserve the character of the terroir without harming it. Grillo makes up 35% of the vineyard area.
