Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the small, historic "San Michelin" vineyard in the village of Custoza, east of Lake Garda. The 40-year-old vines grow on morainic soils at the top of a hill. The lake shapes a mild microclimate. The wine is organic.
Vinification
The grapes are picked entirely by hand, fairly late in the season. They are gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine ages on its fine lees in the same stainless steel tanks. After bottling it rests for several more months in the winery's cellars.
Tasting profile
Elegant, fresh and fruity.
Label / history
"San Michelin" belongs to the Superior range of the Gorgo family company. The range is meant to bring out the character of the land where the family grows its vines, with pure, expressive wines in an authentic, easily recognizable style and a clear connection to their terroir.
