Vineyard and terroir
The Nebbiolo comes from vineyards in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, at elevations of 300–380 metres. The sites face south-east. Their marly-limestone soils contain a predominance of sand and silt.
Grapes
100% Nebbiolo.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand, pressed and destemmed. Controlled-temperature fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, with 8–10 days of maceration. Malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in large barrels.
Serving and pairing
Its full body suits red-meat and game main courses, as well as cheeses.
