Vineyard and terroir
The Müller-Thurgau fruit comes from southeast-facing vineyards at 650 m, on sandy, gravelly soils. The family estate has 5.5 ha of densely planted vineyards at the foot of the Dolomites in the Isarco Valley, at around 800 m. Pronounced differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures contribute to aromatic, rich and balanced fruit.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 18 °C.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for four months in stainless-steel tanks.
Tasting profile
Fresh and lively, with an intense aroma and expressive flavour. It is light yet memorable.
Serving and pairing
Suitable as an aperitif or with light appetizers.
Label / history
Tenuta Köfererhof has passed through many owners during its eight-century history. The Kerschbaumer family has owned the estate since 1940 and began bottling its own wines in 1995. Before then, it supplied Pinot Grigio, Sylvaner, Kerner and Müller-Thurgau grapes.
