Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow in the Isarco Valley in Trentino-Alto-Adige at 650 m above sea level. The vineyard faces southeast and has limestone and sandy soils with some gravel. The estate's 5.5 ha of densely planted vineyards lie at the foot of the Dolomites, around 800 m above sea level, where marked differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures help produce aromatic, rich and balanced fruit.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, then gently pressed and macerated for 8–10 hours. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 18 °C.
Ageing
The wine spends six months on the lees before bottling.
Tasting profile
Green-fruit notes accompany an elegant palate.
Label / history
The small Tenuta Köfererhof estate has passed through many owners during its eight-century history. The Kerschbaumer family has owned it since 1940 and began bottling its own wines in 1995.
