History, winemaking, wines and news for this producer are being prepared. Meanwhile, visit the official website.
Terroir
La Chiara is set among the hills at the foot of the Ligurian Apennines, near Gavi. The estate covers 39 hectares, of which 20 hectares are planted to vine. The vines face south and southwest. Soils are a mix of tuff and limestone interspersed with clay, sand and gravel.
Vinificazione
La Chiara takes careful, hands-on care of its plots, working from the belief that great wine begins in the vineyard. Severe pruning and vine thinning are used to keep yields low and improve grape quality, while chemicals and fertilizers are avoided whenever possible. Grapes are always harvested by hand into small crates.
The cellar is equipped with temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, pneumatic presses, sheet filters and vacuum units for a sterile bottling line.
Filosofia
La Chiara believes that great wine begins in the vineyard, which underlies its careful, hands-on approach to viticulture.
