Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the “Neris” vineyard in Corona (San Lorenzo), at 45–60 m above sea level. The vines average more than 25 years of age and grow in limestone soils with a high gravel content. The vineyard is farmed exclusively using organic methods to preserve the ecological balance of the soil and surrounding environment.
Grapes
The blend contains 90% Merlot and a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, giving it a Bordeaux-style profile while retaining a distinctly Friulian character.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place in contact with the skins for two weeks in stainless-steel tanks at 26–28 °C, with regular rack-and-return.
Ageing
The wine matures in 225-litre French oak barrels for 15–20 months, followed by a further year in bottle in specially equipped cellars at the winery.
Label / history
Annual production is approximately 6,000 bottles.
