Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the single Curubella vineyard in Colli Orientali del Friuli, situated among rounded hills.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and macerated on their skins for two days, giving the wine a golden-copper hue and fuller structure. Fermentation takes place in cocciopesto vessels made from a traditional blend of clay and mineral components. Malolactic fermentation follows the main fermentation, softening the acidity.
Ageing
The wine ages in cocciopesto vessels. Ageing on the lees develops a creamier, more layered texture.
Tasting profile
Ripe melon, white flowers, orange zest, honey and spicy herbs shape the nose. The palate balances richness and freshness, with a full texture, mineral character and lightly salty notes.
Serving and pairing
Pair with seafood, risotto or elaborate vegetable dishes.
Label / history
The name Curubella comes from a local dialect term for the rounded hills where the vineyard is located.
