Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The wine comes from massal-selection vines planted in 1975.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a short skin maceration to broaden the aromatic profile. Fermentation takes place partly in 15-hectolitre oak casks. A long malolactic fermentation contributes softness and depth.
Ageing
The portion fermented in oak remains in the same large casks, limiting the influence of wood while retaining freshness. Ageing on the lees gives the wine a creamier, more complex texture.
Tasting profile
Golden in colour with bright yellow highlights. The layered nose combines passion fruit, nettle, cotton candy, canned peach and honeysuckle, with subtle coriander notes. The palate opens soft, savoury and mineral, becoming livelier as sweet tropical and citrus flavours emerge. A faint woody note appears on the finish. The wine has depth and texture rather than pronounced grassy notes.
Serving and pairing
Pair with seafood, elaborate vegetable dishes, or dishes featuring leafy greens and herbs.
Label / history
The name Potentilla comes from a flower that grows on the hills of Friuli.
