Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio on marl and clay soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in small crates. They undergo eight hours of cold maceration in a horizontal press. After decanting, the juice ferments in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15 °C.
Ageing
The wine remains on its lees in the same stainless-steel tanks for around five months. After bottling, it matures for an unspecified period before release.
Tasting profile
Bright and rich, with naturally high acidity and an expressive, supple palate.
Vintage notes
The 2019 winter in Friuli-Venezia Giulia was dry and warm, causing an early start to the growing cycle. Cold weather subsequently returned, accompanied by heavy rain and substantial snowfall in the mountains. Changeable conditions and low temperatures persisted through May, slowing vine development; flowering occurred in early June. July and August were hot, at times scorching, with little rainfall, although nighttime temperatures fell. The grapes ripened well overall, while yields declined by around 20%.
