Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on marl soils at Ruttars, in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio.
Vinification
The grapes are hand-harvested into crates and dried for 10 days in sunlight and moonlight. They then undergo eight hours of cold maceration in a horizontal press. After pressing and settling, the juice ferments in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16 °C.
Ageing
The wine remains on its lees in the same stainless-steel tanks for around eight months. It then undergoes an extended period of bottle ageing before release.
Tasting profile
Elegant.
Vintage notes
Spring and summer 2020 brought favourable conditions. Several particularly hot periods in August did not compromise the good yields, and harvest began in the first days of September. The vintage’s white wines showed complex varietal character and the distinctive personality associated with warm vintages.
Label / history
The name “Soluna” combines Sole and Luna, referring to the sunlight and moonlight in which the grapes are dried.
