Vineyard and terroir

The grapes grow on marl and clay soils in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand and carried to the winery in small crates. The berries undergo cold maceration in a horizontal press for 8 hours. The juice is then decanted and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled 18 °C.

Ageing

After fermentation the wine rests on its lees in the same stainless steel tanks for around five months. It is then bottled and matured further before release.

Tasting profile

A dry, fresh and generous white with a pleasant taste and a bright aroma full of exotic fruit notes. The method gives it an exceptionally aromatic character and a well-structured style.

Label / history

Azienda Agricola Livon was founded in the early 1960s by the Friulian Livon family, when Dorino Livon bought his first vineyards in the Collio hills. His sons Valneo and Tonino joined him in the mid-1980s. The family redesigned the vineyard layout and adopted short pruning, organic methods, high-density planting, the integration of native plants and low yields. Livon today has more than 200 ha of vineyards.
