Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards are located a few kilometres from the sea, on sandy soils covered with pebbles. Their exposure to the wind provides excellent ventilation.
Grapes
Massareta is an ancient native variety also known as Barsaglina.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September and macerated on their skins for 10 days to extract tannins and aromas.
Ageing
The wine ages in steel tanks for five months, preserving its freshness and individual character.
Tasting profile
Fresh, lively and approachable, the wine is full-flavoured, with bright aromas of flowers, juicy fruit and pepper.
Serving and pairing
Pair with red meat, particularly grilled dishes.
Label / history
In Roman times, the circus was a gathering place for socialising and celebrations. The ancient city of Luni had its own circus, to which Lunae dedicated this wine.
