Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are selected cluster by cluster from two historic vineyards in the hills of Luni and Castelnuovo Magra. Numero Chiuso is made only in the best vintages, with each release limited to 2,600 bottles—the volume corresponding to a single 20 hl cask.
Grapes
100% Vermentino.
Vinification
The grapes undergo approximately 12 hours of cold skin maceration, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine rests for approximately 18 months in a 20 hl oak cask and receives a further 18 months of bottle maturation.
Technical data
Colli di Luni D.O.C. Vermentino. Alcohol: 14% vol. Production: 2,600 bottles per release.
Tasting profile
Brilliant straw yellow with golden reflections. The complex bouquet combines tropical fruit with fresh summer fruit, particularly peach and apricot, alongside vanilla and acacia blossom. The palate is intense and savoury, with lively acidity carrying the wine into a long, almond-toned finish.
Label / history
Numero Chiuso grew from the idea that pure Vermentino could develop a meaningful dialogue with time rather than being appreciated only for youthful fruit. The concept followed observations of the depth and complexity acquired by outstanding Vermentino vintages after several years in bottle.
Vintage notes
The 2021 vintage received the Corona from ViniBuoni d’Italia 2026 and gold medals at WOW! The Italian Wine Competition 2025 and the 2024 Mondial des Vins Extrêmes.
