Vineyard and terroir
The Terlo and Ravera vineyards lie in the commune of Barolo. Their vines average around 33 years of age and yield 70 metric quintals per hectare annually.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand from each vineyard and vinified separately. Maceration on the skins lasts 7–8 days, followed by spontaneous fermentation in rotating stainless-steel vats. The separate wines are then blended.
Ageing
The blend matures for 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels, followed by 24 months in 3,000-litre Slavonian oak casks.
Tasting profile
The aroma is soft and earthy, with bright, fruity acidity.
Label / history
First released as “Terlo Ravera” in 1990.
