The Gallo family has been making wine in the Friuli Isonzo region for more than 60 years.

1970s

Silvio Gallo focused on improving the quality of the wines. He introduced stainless steel tanks to control the temperature during fermentation of the grape must. This preserved the fruit character and brought out the grape varieties and the qualities of the terroir more clearly.

Today

Fabrizio Gallo runs the family business with his brother Marco, after they inherited it from their father, Silvio Gallo. Masut da Rive owns 22 hectares of vineyards in the valleys of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

The estate is in the Friuli Isonzo region, with vineyards in the valleys of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It lies on the 46th parallel, at the same latitude as a famous French wine region.

Fabrizio Gallo holds that grapes provide the potential for quality, while careful winemaking must bring that potential to life. When the two work together, he says, they can produce a beautiful wine.
