Vineyard and terroir

The approximately 5 ha vineyard lies on southeast-facing slopes at 400–500 m above sea level. Its dark-red, stony clay-marl soils are rich in iron. The exposure encourages even ripening, while the soils contribute body and subtle minerality.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed as intact bunches, with a portion cold-pressed to preserve aromatic purity. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vats at a controlled 16–18 °C.

Ageing

The wine rests on its lees in stainless-steel tanks for at least five months, adding some texture while retaining freshness. It matures further in bottle.

Tasting profile

Fresh, precise and expressive, with bright fruit balanced by floral, woodland and subtle earthy notes.

Serving and pairing

Suitable as a light aperitif.

Vintage notes

In 2024, rainfall from February to May and again from late September followed several dry years. Warm, dry conditions from mid-June to mid-September brought the white grapes to ideal ripeness. Timely vine protection, leaf thinning and green pruning helped maintain healthy grapes and their aromatic intensity.

Label / history

Rovereto is one of the few historic crus in the commune of Gavi. Its name is associated with ancient oak groves, echoed by the wine’s woodland character. Giancarlo Ferraris designed the label, drawing inspiration from an autumn forest: orange leaves, the forest floor and fallen foliage rustling during mushroom picking represent the relationship between nature and terroir.
