Vineyard and terroir

The Nebbiolo is grown in Monforte, Verduno and La Morra, in vineyards facing mainly east and southeast. In Monforte d’Alba, the soils are calcareous clay marls with tuff formations of Helvetian origin. The soils of La Morra and Verduno are of Tortonian origin, with a high proportion of silt and sand.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand. Vinification takes place in stainless-steel tanks, with 13–14 days of skin-contact maceration at 27–32 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

The wine matures for at least three years, including 24 months in large oak casks and at least one year in bottle.

Tasting profile

The nose is complex. The palate is refined and generous, with elegant tannins and a distinctive structure.
