Vineyard and terroir
Fonte del Bosco is made from an old Trebbiano vineyard enclosed by the woodland of Monte Vibiano. An ancient water spring lies within the surrounding vegetation and gives this cru its name. The site is positioned at 280–350 metres above sea level on clay-calcareous soil containing a substantial proportion of skeletal material. The Guyot-trained vines are planted at approximately 5,000 plants per hectare. Grapes are harvested strictly by hand into boxes.
Grapes
100% Trebbiano, described as an ancient local variety, from organically grown grapes.
Vinification
The grapes are gently destemmed and pressed. Alcoholic fermentation occurs mainly in stainless steel and concrete eggs, while a small portion is directed to wood.
Ageing
Maturation is carried out principally in stainless steel and concrete eggs, supplemented by a small component matured in wood.
