Nativ

Nativ was founded in 2008 in Paternopoli, in the heart of Irpinia, by two wine enthusiasts: Dr. Mario Ercolino, an internationally renowned oenologist, and Dr. Roberta Pirone, a food industry specialist. Drawing on their long experience in winemaking, they set out to make wines from traditional local grape varieties.

The vineyards lie between Paternopoli and Taurasi, in Irpinia. The area is known for the fertility of its volcanic soils.

Every Nativ wine is made with innovative winemaking methods, while respecting tradition and preserving the aromas, flavors and other sensory qualities of the grapes. The winery describes the result as wine with its own distinctive character, high quality and the ability to age well.

The founders aimed to make excellent wines from traditional local grape varieties. The name Nativ reflects the origins of winegrowing in Irpinia through local products and the idea of "native origin", expressed in wines made from grapes typical of the terroir. The winery holds that grapes have always been a symbol of local culture and that its wine embodies the "Made in Italy" label like few others.
