Vineyard and terroir
The biodynamically farmed vineyards are located in the countryside of Dorilli at a modest elevation. The soils consist mainly of loose red sand, with a layer of tuff about 90 cm below the surface that retains water and helps maintain the vines’ water balance. The combination of soil and climate is linked to the wine’s red-fruit character.
Tasting profile
The nose offers red fruit, berries and spices, with Marsala strawberry, cherry and pomegranate alongside sandalwood, coriander and Sichuan pepper. The palate echoes these aromas and adds black pepper, carob, sweet black cherry and mulberry.
Label / history
First produced in 2001, the wine takes its name from cerasa, the Sicilian word for cherry.
