Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Poggio la Mozza in Grosseto. The estate lies within the Morellino di Scansano DOCG area and has 35 hectares of vineyards at approximately 100 metres above sea level. The north-west-facing vines grow in lightly acidic sandy soil formed from an ancient seabed. Yield is 9,000 kilograms per hectare. These conditions contribute to the wine’s elegance and soft tannins.
Grapes
90% Sangiovese, with the remaining 10% comprising Merlot and Syrah.
Vinification
Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah are harvested during the final two weeks of September and into the first week of October. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The grapes undergo 15 days of maceration, with two remontages each day. The production notes assign four months to the stainless-steel phase, after which the wine is bottled without passing through wood.
Ageing
No wood is used. After bottling, the wine receives at least two additional months of refinement before release.

Label / history
