Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from 18 ha of vineyards at approximately 100 m above sea level, with south-to-southwest exposure. The sloping soils contain abundant rocky material, particularly galestro and macigno. Planting density is 5,000–6,000 vines per hectare.
Grapes
85% Sangiovese and 15% Ciliegiolo.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless-steel tanks at the Magliano in Toscana winery and last 15–20 days.
Ageing
The wine matures for eight months in concrete.
Technical data
The first vintage was 1998. Average production is approximately 60,000 bottles, and the stated ageing capacity exceeds five years.
Tasting profile
Warm and intense in character, reflecting its origins close to the sea, yet approachable and enjoyable. Its balance and easy-drinking character make it a versatile red.
