Questo vino

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from two estate-owned vineyard parcels. Le Prata lies at 507 m above sea level with a south-west exposure, while La Torre is situated at 420 m with a south-east exposure. The vineyards are trained to Guyot at a density of 5,952 vines per hectare, with a yield of 55–60 quintals per hectare. The two parcels are vinified and aged separately, then united before bottling.

Grapes

100% certified-organic Sangiovese.

Vinification

Long spontaneous fermentations are conducted exclusively by native yeasts, without temperature control. The wine is bottled without filtration.

Ageing

The wine matures for 42 months in large Slavonian oak casks holding 30 or 50 hl. The Le Prata and La Torre lots remain separate through vinification and ageing before the final blend is assembled for bottling.

Tasting profile

Bright, luminous ruby red with garnet reflections. The bouquet is precise and clean, led by well-integrated floral aromas. Savoury, almost saline tannins combine with the vintage’s pronounced acidity, shaping an elegant wine in a traditional style.

Vintage notes

The 2020 season began with a spring of average temperatures and well-distributed rainfall. These rains built substantial water reserves in the soil, helping the vines through a fairly hot summer. Excellent day-to-night temperature variation in September supported optimal phenolic ripeness.
