Storia
Founding
Cantina Produttori Nebbiolo di Carema, named after its home village, was founded in 1960 by a group of 10 local grape growers and winemakers.
Growth of the cooperative
Today, the cooperative includes 101 wineries, of which 71 have their own vineyards.
Renovation
The Carema cellars were renovated in 2013, when more of the old oak barrels used for ageing were replaced with new ones.
Terroir
The village of Carema lies in a sunny valley in northwestern Piedmont, close to the border between Piedmont and the Aosta Valley. In past centuries, the area marked the border first with Gaul and later with the Kingdom of Burgundy. The area is known for vines planted on terraces.
Vinificazione
The cooperative brings together 101 member wineries, 71 of which cultivate their own vineyards, growing grapes in the terraced setting for which Carema is known.

Filosofia
Through its best wines, the company aims to preserve and develop the local wine culture of growing grapes and making wine in what it describes as a special and truly unique setting.
