Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the Agliano d'Asti area, on clay soils rich in calcareous marl. This terroir underpins Barbera's bright colour and generous fruit aroma.
Vinification
The grapes are destemmed and pressed, then macerate on the skins for 5–7 days at a maximum of 28 °C. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation are both completed before winter. The winemaking is designed to preserve the natural fruit character.
Ageing
The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks, with no oak, and bottled the following spring to keep its youthful energy.
Tasting profile
Honest and straightforward, with pure fruit notes and none of the complexity or weight of oak ageing. Bright colour and generous fruit aroma. It is meant to be drunk young.
Serving and pairing
Suited to a dinner centred on good food and conversation. No specific dishes are named.
Vintage notes
2024: a mild winter was followed by a rainy spring and summer, which called for special vine-care methods and essential cluster thinning. The remaining grapes developed good sugar concentration while retaining freshness. Harvest ran from 17 September to 2 October.
Label / history
