Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown in vineyards at 300–400 metres above sea level.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in mid-September, and the must is fermented in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees to develop aroma and structure. A portion of the Syrah is aged in oak barrels for one month.
Label / history
The Tenuta Rapitalà name translates from Arabic as “river of Allah.” Count Bernard Ugonis della Gatine founded the estate in 1971, rebuilding its cellars and winery after they had been almost completely destroyed in the Belice Valley earthquake.
