Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from selected vineyards on clay soils at 400–500 metres above sea level. Yields are kept low.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested during the first ten days of September and vinified in small stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24–26 °C. This method develops structure while preserving the variety’s distinctive aroma.
Tasting profile
Intense fruit aromas lead to a soft, pleasantly structured palate.
Label / history
The estate’s name means “river of Allah” in Arabic. Tenuta Rapitalà was founded in 1971 by Count Bernard Hugonis de la Gatinais, who rebuilt its cellars and winery after they were almost completely destroyed in the Belice Valley earthquake.
