Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from a vineyard in the Terlo geographical mention, within the village of Barolo. The parcel lies on the border with MGA Coste and near Ravera. The wine is conceived as an expression of the village, with a fine and elegant character associated with this location.
Grapes
Nebbiolo.
Vinification
The vineyard is harvested by hand into small crates once physiological maturity has been reached, with ripeness evaluated through the condition of the grape pips. The harvested fruit passes through two manual selections before vinification.
Fermentation takes place exclusively in wooden vats. A pied de cuve prepared with indigenous yeasts initiates fermentation, which continues for about ten days. This is followed by traditional submerged-cap maceration lasting approximately 60–70 days.
Ageing
The wine matures for approximately five years in neutral oak and concrete vats.
Tasting profile
Fine and elegant in character.
