Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, at 280–320 metres above sea level. The vines are trained to a low spurred cordon, following Montalcino tradition. Harvest begins in October.
Grapes
100% Sangiovese Grosso. The wine is conceived as an expression of the variety’s quality and elegance.
Ageing
Ageing takes place in large Slavonian oak barrels, intended to develop the wine’s characteristics while preserving its traditional flavour.
Technical data
Red Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G with 14% alcohol by volume. Production totals 4,266 bottles. Available formats are a 750 ml Bordeaux bottle and a 1.5 L Magnum.
Tasting profile
Intense ruby red with garnet reflections. The aroma is intense, persistent and fine, combining floral, fruity and spicy characters with varietal notes. The palate is dry, warm, soft and enveloping, with good freshness, savoury character and a full body. Its silky breadth is supported by an elegant, balanced structure and soft, unobtrusive tannins. The wine is intense and persistent, with a long finish recalling the spicy notes found on the nose.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 18 °C with red meats, game or aged cheeses.
