Vineyard and terroir
Marianova is made from selected Syrah and Sangiovese grown in the Vignanova vineyard. The two varieties were chosen to express the brightness and harmony of this Mediterranean setting through depth and complexity rather than sheer concentration or layering.
Grapes
Equal parts Syrah and Sangiovese. Marianova is presented as the first Bolgheri Superiore made without Bordeaux varieties in its blend.
Vinification
Vinification takes place in concrete vats with 30% whole clusters. Malolactic fermentation occurs in barriques.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in a combination of 750-litre amphorae and barriques.
Tasting profile
The intended style emphasizes brightness, harmony, depth and complexity while avoiding dependence on concentration and heavily layered structure.
Serving and pairing
The estimated ageing capacity exceeds 20 years.
Label / history
First produced in 2015, Marianova originated as the first wine project of the second Satta generation. Its name connects this new generation with Vignanova, the vineyard supplying the selected fruit.
