Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from the 0.8 ha vineyard at the /Bricchi estate in Acqui Terme, close to the boundary with Castel Rocchero. Its coordinates are 44.705849, 8.417948. The documented parcel lies at 380 m above sea level and faces east. More broadly, the estate vineyards range from 350 m to over 400 m and are predominantly south-west-facing. The soils are mainly clay, with a small proportion of sand across the estate. The vineyard was planted in 2005 and grafted over in 2017.

Grapes

100% Timorasso.

Vinification

The must remains in contact with the skins for 20 hours in a tank at below 10°C. After pressing, it undergoes 24 hours of cold static clarification, followed by fermentation in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine matures for nine months in stainless steel with periodic bâtonnage. After bottling, it rests for a further 24 months before release.

Technical data

It is bottled in 0.75 L emerald-green Bordeaux bottles embossed with the Scarpa logo.

Tasting profile

Straw yellow in colour. The bouquet combines white flowers, citrus, saffron and flint. On the palate it is medium-bodied, with pronounced acidity balanced by subtle minerality and a long, persistent finish.

Serving and pairing

Suitable partners include fresh and medium-aged cheeses, Caesar or chicken salad, mixed salads with poultry, grilled chicken and vegetables, and shellfish. The expected ageing potential is 5–10 years.
