Vineyard and terroir

Tettimorra comes from a 1.2-hectare vineyard in the municipality of La Morra, at 44.648455, 7.946032. The site lies at 380 metres above sea level and faces south-east. Its soils are predominantly marl and white clay, and the vines were planted between 1955 and 1985.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification

The grapes macerate on their skins for 23 days in 54 hL wooden vats. Two manual pump-overs are performed each day. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine is racked into steel tanks, where malolactic fermentation is completed.

Ageing

The wine matures for 29 months in 45 hL barrels made from French Allier oak, followed by six months of bottle ageing before release.

Technical data

The wine is bottled in an elongated-neck Burgundy bottle made exclusively for Scarpa. Its amber-coloured glass bears the winery’s trademark. Available formats are 0.75 L and 1.5 L.

Tasting profile

Bright garnet red. The bouquet combines fine violet and sweet-liquorice nuances with red berries and red plum, followed by balsamic tones, tobacco and woodland-floor notes. The palate is ample and structured, with pronounced yet fine, elegant tannins supported by good freshness.

Serving and pairing

Suitable for feathered game, other game dishes, braised or roasted meat, and aged cheese. Its ageing potential exceeds 20 years.
