Questo vino

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from a 2 ha vineyard in the municipality of Neive, at coordinates 44.721611, 8.135366. The site lies at 400 m above sea level, faces south and has predominantly sandy soils. Its vines were planted in 1968, 1970, 1997 and 2008.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification

The must remains in contact with the skins for 23 days in 54 hL wooden vats. Two manual pump-overs are performed each day. Once alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wine is racked into steel tanks, where malolactic fermentation finishes.

Ageing

The wine matures for 24 months in a 45 hL French Allier oak barrel. It then rests in bottle for another 12 months before release.

Tasting profile

Medium-deep garnet red. The bouquet is led by sweet violet and red fruit, accompanied by balsamic nuances and leather. The palate is full-bodied, with pronounced yet elegant tannins, lively freshness and a long finish marked by subtle mineral notes.

Serving and pairing

Suggested pairings include poultry, veal spare ribs, feathered game, Castelmagno risotto and long-aged cheeses. The wine has a stated longevity of more than 20 years.

Bottle

Tettineive is offered in 0.75 L and 1.5 L formats. It uses an amber Burgundy-shaped bottle with an elongated neck, made exclusively for Scarpa and embossed with the winery’s trademark.
