Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from Villa di Petrognano, where Selvapiana cultivates six hectares of vineyard. The site lies at the foot of the Apennines, close to the boundary between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, within the small historic Pomino denomination.

Label / history

The Villa di Petrognano project grew from the friendship between the property's owner, Countess Cecilia Galeotti Ottieri, and Francesco Giuntini. Pomino was one of four Tuscan wine-production areas protected by Grand Duke Cosimo III de’ Medici’s 1716 decree, together with Classico, Carmignano and Valdarno Superiore.
