Vineyard and terroir
The Erchi estate lies in the municipality of Pontassieve. Selvapiana acquired the 15 ha property in 1998 after searching for another Rufina site capable of expressing a distinct interpretation of Sangiovese. Six hectares were planted with Sangiovese in 1999.

Label / history
The vines were allowed to mature before the first parcel selection was bottled. The inaugural wine was the 2017 vintage, whose character was considered notably different from Sangiovese grown at Selvapiana.
Recognition
The 2017 vintage received Quattro Viti, the highest distinction in the seventh edition of the Associazione Italiana Sommelier’s VITAE Guida ai Vini d’Italia.
