Vineyard and terroir

The Nebbiolo comes from Marassio, the estate’s highest vineyard, at 537 m above sea level. Forest surrounds the site, contributing to a cool microclimate. Its soil is rich in limestone with veins of chalk, an unusual composition for the commune of La Morra.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in 60 hL conical wooden vats, followed by approximately 45 days of maceration to extract colour and aroma.

Ageing

The wine matures for 30 months in 25 hL Austrian oak barrels. The wood contributes additional aromatic depth and complexity. Further maturation in bottle precedes release.

Tasting profile

Complex and layered, with rich, powerful yet elegant aromas. The palate has a firm, deep foundation with earthy and mineral character.
