Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the “La Morra” and “Serradenari” vineyards in the hills of the Langhe. The vines average 15 years of age and grow at 520 metres above sea level on north-facing slopes with clay-limestone soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in two stages. Alcoholic fermentation starts spontaneously with wild yeasts, promoting the expression of the terroir. Maceration lasts approximately 25 days to maximize the extraction of colour and aromas.
Ageing
The wine ages for 20 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux, developing greater depth, softness and aromatic complexity. It then rests in the cellar for several more months after bottling.
Tasting profile
Elegant, balanced and layered, with complex yet harmonious aromas, depth and softness.
Label / history
The name La Tartufaia recalls the truffle fields planted by Giulia Negri’s grandfather and later replaced by vineyards.
