Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Orma estate’s own vineyards in Bolgheri. The 15-year-old vines grow at 60 m above sea level on southwest-facing slopes. The soils consist mainly of clay and gravel, with a small proportion of sand, and the planting density exceeds 7,000 vines per hectare.
Vinification
Fermentation and maceration take place over 18 days in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures for 10 months in small oak barrels, followed by six months in bottle. It can be drunk now but is considered at its best after 2025.
Tasting profile
Well-balanced and structured, with rich berry and spice notes on both the nose and palate. Minerality and elegance are joined by power and finesse.
Label / history
The name Passi di Orma refers to the winery’s journey and its effort to challenge perceptions of young vineyards while remaining faithful to the Bolgheri terroir.
