Vineyard and terroir

This organic rosé is made from Montepulciano grown at Tenuta Centovie in Roseto degli Abruzzi. The south-east-facing vineyard lies at approximately 200 metres above sea level on structured clay-loam soil that is sandy in places. Planting density varies from 1,600 to 5,000 vines per hectare.

Grapes

100% Montepulciano.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand after reaching a minimum potential alcohol of approximately 18.5° Babo. Bunches that are not completely sound are removed during selection. At optimal maturity, the fruit is transferred gently to the press for a brief low-temperature maceration, followed by soft pressing. This restrained extraction is intended to retain the aromas and obtain the desired pale colour. Fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks at approximately 16°C.

Ageing

The wine remains in stainless-steel tanks for approximately three to four months before bottling.

Tasting profile

Delicate petal pink with brilliant reflections. The nose is fresh and floral, accented by subtle citrus notes. Elegant and refreshing on the palate, it has good acidity and flavours of red cherry and pink grapefruit, followed by a pleasant, complex and persistent finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 12–14°C in a medium-sized, approximately spherical glass with a straight opening. Pair with stuffed pasta, roast white meat or roasted seafood.

Label / history

First produced in 2018 after several years of experimentation with organically cultivated Montepulciano. Its gentle vinification was developed to combine the variety’s expressive character with freshness, fruit and an approachable drinking profile.
