Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Tenuta Flaminio and Tenuta Castel Serranova. The vineyards cover 15 hectares, with rows oriented north–south on limestone-clay soils. Vines are trained to a bilateral spurred-cordon system, with an average yield of 1.6 kg per plant.
The Flaminio line takes its name from the historic Flaminio vineyards, situated on an ancient Messapian settlement outside San Pietro Vernotico.
Grapes
100% Susumaniello. The variety can be exuberantly productive when young; as the vines mature, production decreases and the grapes develop greater aromatic complexity, including notes recalling leather and Mediterranean scrub.
Vinification
Harvest takes place during the first ten days of October and combines manual and mechanical picking. The grapes undergo soft destemming and crushing. Temperature-controlled fermentation and post-fermentation maceration take place in thermoregulated stainless-steel tanks over 15 days, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine page gives maturation in cement vats and 50 hL oak barrels, while the technical sheet specifies cement vats without mentioning oak. Bottle ageing lasts 3 months.

Tasting profile
Bright, intensely ruby-red in colour with violet reflections. The nose is fruity and spicy, with light vegetal nuances. The palate is powerful, savoury and well structured, opening softly before developing through a layered progression. Soft, enveloping tannins shape the finish, which is long and leaves a persistent spicy impression.
Serving and pairing
Pair with structured first courses, meats in general, and spicy foods.
Label / history
Flaminio represents the Vallone family's interpretation of native grape varieties and a tradition described as continually evolving, centred on intense colours and fruit-driven aromas.
