Vineyard and terroir
The estate vineyards lie in the historic Lugana DOC zone on the southern shore of Lake Garda. They are Guyot-trained at high planting density. One parcel has stratified calcareous and clay soils, while two parcels are sandier and rich in silt. Fruit from the clay-rich ground brings body and structure; the sandier soils contribute aroma and elegance.
Grapes
100% Turbiana. Components from contrasting vineyard soils are vinified separately before being combined into the finished wine.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at night. Slow fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 14–18 °C, followed by racking after natural sedimentation.
Ageing
The wine rests for approximately three months on lees and fine yeasts, followed by maturation in stainless steel. Its structure is intended to support development over a few additional years in the cellar.
