Vineyard and terroir

The selected Turbiana comes from Tenuta Le Fornaci just outside Sirmione, in the heart of the Lugana denomination. Its firm soils give few bunches, but the grapes offer substantial richness and concentration. The broader vineyard description mentions Guyot-trained, high-density estate parcels on stratified calcareous-clay soils and sandier, silt-rich ground. The wine is produced only in the best years.

Grapes

100% Turbiana.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand, and the finest bunches are selected. Whole bunches are crushed and pressed gently. Fermentation lasts 10–12 days in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

For 18 months, 25% of the wine matures in 500 L French oak barrels and 75% in stainless steel. The components are then blended and bottled, followed by six months of bottle rest.

Technical data

Alcohol: 13.5% vol. Bottle size: 750 ml.

Tasting profile

Bright golden reflections introduce an harmonious wine with intense, developed aromas. The bouquet combines freshness and minerality with ripe yellow fruit. Concentrated flavors unite floral and citrus impressions with delicate honey, followed by an elegant aftertaste of vanilla and walnuts. The finish is long, enveloping, intriguing and persistent.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 10–12°C. Pair with freshwater fish, pasta dishes, medium-aged cheeses or meat courses. A regional-style match is crostini dressed with extra-virgin olive oil, grated lemon zest, basil leaves and olives.

Vintage notes

The wine is made only in the best years. Vintages displayed in the additional-information section are 2013, 2015 and 2016.
