Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit grows in an organic vineyard in Puglia, southern Italy, between the Adriatic and Ionian seas. Sunshine, sea breezes and distinctive soils create a complex climate that influences vine growth and grape development.
Vinification
The grapes are picked entirely by hand at full ripeness. Every bunch is rigorously sorted on dedicated tables before entering the cellar. The must ferments in stainless-steel tanks at 26–28 °C, followed by 15–18 days of skin maceration for gradual, balanced extraction of colour and tannins. Malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
The wine rests for at least 15 months in French oak barrels, followed by one year in bottle.
Tasting profile
Rich and elegant, with a harmonious balance of structure and flavour.
Vintage notes
In 2021, bud break was late, after which a sharp rise in spring temperatures accelerated shoot growth. The summer was hot and dry, but the soils and carefully controlled irrigation enabled the grapes to reach optimal ripeness. Stable, dry conditions from September through the third week of October allowed a steady, careful harvest.
