Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Montalcino, Tuscany, across southeastern and southwestern vineyard areas. The soils are stony and marly, with abundant skeletal material. The vines are trained to a balanced unilateral spurred cordon at a density of 4,600 plants per hectare. Yield is 60 quintals of grapes per hectare.

100% Sangiovese. Harvest takes place between September and October.
Vinification
Fermentation begins spontaneously without the addition of selected yeasts. It takes place in 50 hL oak vats, with intensive pump-overs during the initial phase and temperature controlled to a maximum of 30°C. The wine remains in contact with the skins for a long maceration.
Ageing
The wine matures for 30 months in 25 hL Slavonian oak barrels.

Alcohol: 14–14.5% vol.
Tasting profile
Deep ruby red with garnet highlights, bright and clear in appearance. The aroma is enveloping, floral and fruity. The palate is pleasantly tannic, soft and elegant, with balanced acidity and freshness.
