Vineyard and terroir
The production area is Alta Maremma in the Colline Metallifere. The vineyards are planted at 8,900 vines per hectare, trained to double spur-pruned cordon and managed through integrated pest management. The technical sheet describes a distinctly clayey soil with a medium-high proportion of stones; the wine page adds that it is rich in minerals and pink marble, a basic rock present in the estate's soils.
Grapes
100% Syrah.
Vinification
Keir Syrah was the first Tua Rita wine vinified in amphora. It spends six months in amphora in contact with the skins, a method chosen to emphasize the grape's varietal character.
Ageing
After amphora vinification, the wine matures for six months in third- and fourth-use French oak barriques. It is bottled in summer and rests for several months before release.

Average production is 2,500 bottles. The available format is 750 ml, packed in cardboard cases of three bottles.
